R. Evan Bassett, Esq.

R. Evan Bassett is a trial attorney with over ten years of experience practicing in the State of Florida. Mr. Bassett's experience includes handling cases in both State and Federal Court. He is licensed to practice in all State Courts of Florida, and the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. Mr. Bassett is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the St. Pete Bar Association. Primarily, Mr. Bassett handles cases in the counties of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Polk, Manatee and Sarasota.

Mr. Bassett is a fifth generation Floridian. He attended high school at Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa and has lived in the Tampa Bay Area all of his life.

Mr. Bassett attended Furman University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Spanish, and with minors in Political Science and Communications. While at Furman, Mr. Bassett was invited for membership in the Phi Sigma Iota International Foreign Language Honor Society, and the Sigma Delta Pi National Hispanic Honor Society.

Evan attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. While at Cumberland, Mr. Bassett was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America National Trial Team. He also received a Certificate of Achievement and was named a Cordell Hull Teaching Fellow for legal research and writing.

Mr. Bassett began his practice as an Assistant State Attorney in Imperial Polk County for the Tenth Judicial Circuit. While a prosecutor, Evan tried numerous jury trials for crimes ranging from petit theft to second degree murder.

For the past ten years plus, Mr. Bassett's civil litigation and trial experience includes serious personal injury, wrongful death, nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, insurance defense, slip and falls, automobile accidents, bodily injury and uninsured/underinsured motorist liability.
